Classic Italian Desserts (Very Popular Class)
Learn how to bake three classic Italian desserts: Fresh Tiramisu (with Homemade Sponge Fingers), Baked Sicilian Cannoli and Bigne al caffe!
Italy has always been known for extraordinary food and wine.
The quality of the cuisine, especially of the sweets, bread and desserts is truly unique and is difficult to parallel among cuisines of other cultures.
Freshness and quality of ingredients, along with centuries of refining and perfecting the recipes of artist bakers and pastry chefs are difficult to parallel.
From rustic bread to festival sweets, Italian life is all about local specialities that define tradition.
Let’s face it, everyone the world around loves desserts – especially after a perfectly prepared, freshly made cuisine.
What could be more a perfect finish to the end of a long day’s work?
As the Italian proverb goes, “Il riposo da ristoro — solo dopo un buon lavoro” which means, “The pleasure one derives from refreshments is enhanced after one has done a good day’s work.”
Desserts don’t have to be eaten only after dinner, however, they are wonderful just to have along with breakfast with coffee (or tea), or, simply to enjoy as a midday snack.
In this hands-on baking session, you will learn the art of baking the ways the Italians do – which means “putting a lot of love” into your work.
The more love you put in, the better your product will be.
This class is structured to give students an understanding of Italian Culture as well as the technical means to become skilful in baking.
For a modest fee, you will be provided three hours of hands-on training, access to all ingredients/state-of-the-art utensils you need and encouraging, supportive advice from professional pastry Italian Chef along with the way in a modern and cosy kitchen.
