In this festivity, we are offering the opportunity to indulge your baking skills into four of our baked pastries collection. These festive baking classes include even more treats and pastries for you to indulge in.
Alongside you, of course, our most qualified chefs will provide guidance and supervision. They make sure that by the end of each session, you have many baking takeaways from our hands-on baking workshop.
Festive Baking Class: Chinese New Year Baked Goodies (4 hours)
On the first part of our hands-on bake fest, our chefs will be assisting you in making baked goodies of cultural heritage.
It’s a demonstration of the recipes and the variant techniques that exist, involving a wide array of well-known traditional Chinese New Year cookies.
The said delicacies of heritage that you will learn include the deliciously light Semperit Biscuit, Hae Bee Hiam roll, Kuih Makmur, Cashew Nut Cookies, and Peanut Cookies.
The duration of this baking class is four hours per session. In this session, you can pick up different baking tips and techniques to make these delicacies. At the end of the class, you will sharpen your skills at baking and take a huge leap forward in mastering the making of these CNY goodies.
Festive Baking Class: Snowskin and Traditional Baked Mooncakes (4 hours)
In this section, we will be moving onto a very culturally-desired stuffed pastry.
These pastries are the most common indispensable delicacy during the Mid-Autumn season in Singapore. In this 4 hours session, we will be making a traditional Chinese dessert known as mooncake.
In the mooncake baking classes, we will be making two versions of this round delicacy. One is the traditional baked mooncake, and the other is the Snowskin mooncake. We will guide you to create the dough for both types of mooncakes. While for the filling, we will have a wide selection to use and choose from.
We’ll have store-bought lotus and red bean paste, and mung bean paste, that of which we will make entirely on our own as a class.
In the traditionally baked version, our chefs will guide you to bake a lotus paste-filled, salted egg, with melon seeds mooncake. And for the snowskin mooncake, we will teach you to make the red bean-filled with dried longan and mung bean mooncake.
Festive Baking Class: Thousand-layer Yam Paste Mooncake (3 hours)
The next bake fest is another variation of our delectable stuffed mooncake which is known for its reign supreme tender and melt-in-your-mouth flaky goodness. Delicate and rich in flavour and this is the thousand-layer flaky yam paste mooncake.
In the 3 hours session, you will learn to create its intricate layered dough, cooking its yam paste, stuffing it with its flavorful fillings, then finally frying it.
In this mooncake making class, you can expect some serious patience-taxing moments. With our experienced chefs, you can expect top-notch guidance alongside carefully-individualistic instructions to aid you in mastering their creation.
Festive Baking Class: Chinese New Year Traditional Cookies (3 hours)
In the fourth and last class for the bake fest, we have another traditional Chinese baked goods to make. In this 3 hours session, you will learn to make cornflake cookies, Kuih Bangkit, Mung Bean cookies, and Kuih Suji. Another set of tasty goodness that you can indulge in, with our chefs’ support and assistance.
